Copier Rentals - What Makes Them Better Than Buying Your Own Machine

Almost all offices have copier machines that employees use for their daily operations. However, most of these businesses do not really buy their own machines. Instead, they just rent copier machines from other companies. What makes copier rentals so popular? Is it really a better option than purchasing your own copier unit?

The answer for most businesses is yes, there are a lot of advantages when taking out copier rentals than actually buying a unit for their office.

First of all, if you buy your own copier machine, you will have the sole responsibility of maintenance, repairs and other such tasks that could take a lot of your valuable time and effort. If you take out a copier rental, you will have a lot less worry about these issues.

Most copier rental companies offer free service and repairs to their customers. When your copier machine malfunctions, all you have to do is contact the copier rental company and they will provide repair assistance for free or for a very minimal amount.

Businesses that have their own copier machines also use copier rentals from time to time. For example, when your regular machine needs to be repaired, you may get a copier rental to make sure that the work in your office goes on as usual.

Or when you have a project that relies heavily on making several copies of documents at a time, you might consider getting a copier rental to supplement the output produced by your own unit.

Copier rentals may be used for a few days or several weeks, depending on your needs. An important thing to remember when renting a copier machine is to make sure a manual is included when your unit is delivered.

Copiers have different features and you might have a tough time figuring out how to operate your copier rental, especially if it is very different from what you are used to. Most rental companies will be more than happy to walk you through the features of your rented copier.

So if you were thinking about buying a machine, and your budget is not enough, remember that you can always use copier rentals. They might be more cost-effective for your business.

Printer Adapters - A Guide to Buying the Right Adapter for Your Printer

Printer adapters are used to connect a printer to a computer or other device that has an incompatible interface. They usually come with a USB plug at one end and a plug for the incompatible interface on the other. There are a lot of different print adapters in different types.

Wireless printer adapters

Because it uses Bluetooth or WiFi technology, a wireless printer adapter is great for mobile printing. It connects the computer to a wireless network and it also allows for connecting to several computers. It can be used for mobile phones, cameras, and other wireless devices.

Wired printer adapters

A wired printer adapter is the conventional form of adapter that comes with standard USB plug at one end and a serial, parallel, or PS/2 plug at the other. It can be connected directly to the computer through the use of an Ethernet hub. When using the Ethernet hub, it usually requires an Ethernet or RJ-45 connector.

Wireless printer adapters can also be used for other devices like camera, mobile phones, and scanners.

Buying tips

Before buying printer adapters, it is best to check first your devices. If you opt to buy a wireless printer adapter, make sure that your computer or network is capable of handling Bluetooth technology. If not, a wired printer adapter may be for you.

Also, check your computer’s system requirements. Some printer adapters require a certain operating system (OS) to be used. Check also if your computer has a USB port where you can plug in the device.

The printer adapter for Windows and Mac are different, so make sure that you buy the right one for your computer.

Oki C5100 - Its Toner Cartridge Need Not Be Expensive

Oki C5100 - It’s Toner Cartridge Need Not Be Expensive

This laser printer, the Oki C5100, is a very good printer for what you pay for it. The only drawback to it is that the printer is somewhat large, and if you decide to purchase it, it will take up a lot of your desk area. If you don’t care about the size of your printer, however, then you will really like this model.

The Oki C5100 has many features available on it. Just to begin with, it has a single pass engine which can print up to 12 color pages per minute and up to 20 black and white pages per minute. This makes it one of the faster printers in this price range. The Oki C5100 has a 250 sheet feeder also, and an auto duplex option is also available. Further options are a 10/100 Ethernet network port and an USB 2.0 port.

This printer comes with four separate toner cartridges, one for black, magenta, cyan, and yellow. This is a great system due to if you run out of cyan ink, you will not need to replace the whole color toner, instead you just replace the cyan. The Oki toner, however, yields less pages than a typical toner, and a full set costs about $150 for a generic branded toner.

The solid ink produced by the specific brand have noticeably higher prices. Some websites had the set of four toners for about four hundred dollars! I would recommend the generic branded toners because they perform the same job at a lower price.

The Oki 5300 is also produced by the previously mentioned brand. This printer has twice the RAM as its predecessor, and its processing speed is double that of the old model. The speed of its printing has stayed the same, the Oki 5300’s ink prints color pages at a rate of twelve a minute, and black and white pages at twenty a minute.

Hopefully, this information about color laser printers has been helpful in telling you the different features that these two printers have and the cost of the ink toners that people factor in when buying a new printer. The cost of ink is always of great importance, so make sure you look into the cost of ink along with the cost of the printer.

The Oki c5100 printer features a single-pass engine design that allows it to process 12 color pages, or 20 b/w pages, per minute and it contains a 10/100 Ethernet port and USB 2.0 connectivity. It comes with four separate toners, so the entire ink cartridge does not need to be replaced if you run out of one color. The Oki toner, however, yields less pages than a typical toner, and a complete set of generic toner costs about 0. Another available model, the Okidata 5300 has twice the RAM and processing speed of its predecessor. Printing speed remains at 12 color pages, or 20 b/w pages, per minute.
